Gambling is definately a numbers game.....a true gambler doesn't go for the big win but plays the feild, using odds and statistics to his advantage.........but if there is a system of winning why doesn't everybody use it........the reason is luck and inside knowledge make up 50% of your chances......with statistics claiming the other 50%..........so if you can work a system out it doesn't always mean you can win every race............the true essense of sucsess in punting it to win by the day not by each race..........a wise man once said it is better to win a dollar then to lose ten.........of course that is common sense, but the theory works...........
example 1 you place a ten dollar bet on a dog to get a place.....it comes second so you might of just one five dollars.........you have just won 50% more then you started with.....that is a great investment, most stock brokers would cherish a 20% profit in their gamblings {stock market}..........so now would be the time to quit..........but you look at your money and say" I only have fifteen dollars, i need to play again until i have lot's of dollars".............you play again, ten dollars to place and again, you win five dollars.............you have now doubled your money{ a remarkable investment}.........NOW is the time to walk away............."but if i play again i could win heaps more"...........and so on
If you have a good day you might fluke it and win money, on the other days you will surely find some form of bad luck/misjudgment and lose........overal if you look at your total outlay compared to your overal winnings you would be surely disapointed.........again you might be lucky and have a profit , but again you have the chance of being below par.....
Another wise man said "In most peoples style of gambling, for every dollar you win, you lose two".........the number of times i have heard someone win money and then hear them say"this makes up for that hundred dollars i lost the other day" is astonishing.........the trick behind gambling is to know when to pull out and to return a profit EVERYTIME you play.........even if you only win two dollars, it's better then losing one.
Your starting money is the next big clue to successful gambling, if you had a thousand dollars in your pocket you wouldn't go and place a thousand dollar bet, nor would you throw five hundred the way of the TAB, {half your money}......... It would be more likely a fifty dollar bet!
meaning if you had ten dollars to play with the equivelant would be a fifty cent bet......if you played twenty games that session betting on "places" only you, and luck was with you you would make a tidy profit percentage wise.........dollar wise it may be meagre...........but hey you started with ten now you have thirteen.........thats 30% more then you began with.............on the thousand dollar starting point 30% would net you three hundred dollars.........thats nearly half a weeks pay in one sitting.........you will never win fast money in gambling.....you need to weigh up your starting price, spread your bets out during a days racing and combine it with your "knowledge of statistics"
In my short experiance with gambling i realised that there are rules .........The first thing to realise is that favorites are usually favorites for a reason.........alot of the time the favorite will come first second or third, but they will pay very little..........so if you had a system of putting ten dollars to place on all the favorites you would still probally lose{ or win very little if luck is on your side}
example 1 If you read the favorite had won the week before, it my be a sign that the dog was in
peak form..........you would place your bet and somehow the dog runs dead last.........what happened?.........you relied on second hand information...........unless you whatched that dogs previous win you have no idea WHY it had won..........there could of been a coliision at the first bend, or the even money favorite came out slow and found traffic, hampering itself and those in front..........it may of stepped up or down agrade..............it may of won by half a nose and only because it had a clean run from the rails in a one turn track..........a true gambler tapes each and every race and WHATCHES them intently........keeping a record of what he see's...........gambling to win requires serious education..........but if you have first hand knowledge of a dogs form you boost you winning percentage a little towards your favour......{then again the dog may of trounced the compitition in it's previous race but ran in to a spot of bother hence it's last position in the current race}........but luckily your system has you betting no more then ten percent of your dollar value anyway so the loss isn't so bad!!!!!
"Everybody has the worlds best system"
If that was true the world would be rich and the TAB would be going broke, and nine times out of ten the person relaying that information isn't a millionare from gambling.........if you go down and whatch punters at the TAB you would be surprised at all the different ways gamblers gamble......some bet by names of dog, some bet on the statistics provided, some bring their folders piled with newspaper clippings and information........... the only way to win is to remember back to highschool and decide on an algerbraic question, one which combines every single peice of information about each and every dog and staistic you have acsess to........
like a computer program it can be long and monotenous to actualy write the program but once it is done it is there to use at any time.......
"Let the system begin"
months ago i began compiling such a system, but there was a few major points i did not include........one was the use of video playbacks to whatch and take notes on..........another i did not include were the TAB's own statistic.........another was the inclusion of insider knowledge from trainer, owners and people in the greyhound industry and a few other minor details....but for every statistic and tip comes another half a percent to your tally of accuracy.......i will be posting statistics regarding most TAB races in a way which we can all use to make and mould a system of winning..........to begin with statistic i will look at are:
What position did the favorite come and what did it pay for win and place.............. it is going back to the basics of my system but it will gradually include a combined system and results of using the system..........once the system works on paper over a set period of time, the real test will come when real money is put on the table..........
